The institute started as a small engineering workshop in 1971 and started functioning as an NVCT-accredited technical training centre in 1977. Today it has grown into a training centre for over 600 youth with 7 NCVT courses and 2 advanced courses. It is the result of the foresight of the CST Brothers who are leading this organisation and the handwork and blessings of god for all associated with the organisation. Mookkannur Balanagar ITI is still able to maintain its reputation in India and abroad for its excellence in the field of technology over the last 30 years. Today, under the leadership of Rev.Br.Tomy Njarakkulam CST and Rev.Br.Simon Chellokaran CST, The Association is on its rise. Apart from girls and boys from Mookkannur and its surrounding students from other districts of Kerala also come here for training.
