    Holy Cross Hospital Cherthala is run by the Society of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, which are pioneers in medical services in the private sector of Kerala, inspired by the motto of our founder Fr. Theodosius Florentine, “The need of the time is the will of god”.

    Accepting the invitation of Sreemoolam Thirunal Maharaja, sisters from Switzerland came to care for the sick in the various Govt. Hospitals in Travancore in the year 1906. Responding to the call of His Excellency Michael Arattukulam, then Bishop of Alleppy, we started our mission in Cherthala in the year 1963 by taking care of leprosy patients.
