Institute of Management in Government (IMG), an autonomous body under the Government of Kerala, was established in 1981 to develop managerial skills, organisational ability, leadership qualities and decision-making skills among different categories of employees go Government, Private and Public sectors. IMG has engaged in realising these objectives through training programmes and other activities including research, consultancy, publications, seminars, workshops and lecturers by eminent persons from India and abroad.

The institute is administered through a Board of Governors and Executive Committee.
