The Daksha Sheth Dance Company – based outside Trivandrum, Kerala – is a company of performing artists from diverse backgrounds who seek to bridge contemporary dance and traditional movement arts. The company’s mission is to create international caliber performances by integrating contemporary dance with traditional Indian movement, theatrical design, innovative sound and state of the art visuals. The company’s strongly physical and vibrant dance language has placed it at the cutting edge of Indian dance. Its Influences include Kathak from North India, Chhau from East India, Kalaripayattu from South India and Mallakhamb from West India. The company is co-directed by Daksha Sheth and Devissaro and features Isha Sharvani as lead dancer.
