Harbour Engineering Department

The Harbour Engineering Department is a specialized department of the state, which undertakes the construction of marine structures, including fishing harbours, landing centres, minor ports, fish farms and other allied works. The Government have declared this department as a service department to the Fisheries, Port, LSGD and Tourism Departments. This department is also entrusted with the implementation of coastal social infrastructure facilities like the up-gradation of coastal roads, construction of bridges in coastal areas, fisheries schools etc. The government of India have empanelled the Harbour Engineering Department as a technical consultant for undertaking consultancy services in other maritime states.
