Welbound is synonymous with adhesive binding in India. The group manufactures various machines that complete the post-press cycle from paper folding machines to three knife trimmers. Together with its partners, the group delivers technology that converts printed information into a well-bound book.

The majority of books made in India have been touched by Welbound - be it in terms of folding, gathering, hot melt glue binding, or trimming.

Welbound Worldwide was established in 1989, by K C Sanjeev, a young entrepreneur, with N Kumar, a design engineer. Their passion - developing state-of-the-art equipment for the graphic art industry, at affordable prices. P Sajith, a marketing professional joined the Group as Director in 1991. Complete post-press solutions Welbound went on to change the way books are bound in India. Since then, Welbound has developed more than 15 products and variants, with indigenous expertise. From folding to trimming, the products complete the bookbinding cycle. The tie-up with world leaders in adhesives, Henkel Adhesives (erstwhile National Starch and Chemicals) has helped Welbound deliver complete solutions to the bookbinding industry. With their support, technical seminars and application training sessions are hosted all over the country to increase awareness of book-binding techniques. Welbound designs and develops the majority of the products with indigenous expertise. Welbound also has tied up with a few European manufacturers for the production of their machines and accessories in India. A well-established sales and service network takes care of installations and training - on machines as well as applications. Welbound has more than 2000 unique customers in India and neighboring countries. In addition to this, Middle East Asia and Africa are the major export destinations. Education on bookbinding To support printers and binders on bookbinding technology, seminars are held at various parts by in-house experts. The print buyers - publishers, in this case, are also similarly supported. The technical seminars are branded as Welbound Knowledge Yatra. Welbound Times is a well-read technical newsletter on bookbinding. Welbound has been in service to the print industry, for more than 24 years. Welbound has won the Indian President's Award for quality products for two consecutive years.
