Parathuvayalil family has been living in Keezhillam since the 13th century. Few ancestors were involved in traditional medical practice. Late 175 years saw four generations involved in this practice. One among them reached unprecedented heights of popularity when he started to combine bone-setting techniques in his practice. Paulose Vaidyan has achieved fame through his conservative method of treating fractures.
Parathuvayalil Hospital was founded in 1955, by the late P.V. Paulose Vaidyan. The hospital has been evolving and progressing in tune with the growing trends and is working towards a qualitative shift under the leadership of his son Dr. Pathrose, Kerala’s first postgraduate (MD) in Ayurveda Marmachikilsa and Kayachikilsa.

Ayurveda- the science of life, is the world’s oldest system of health care, originated in India thousands of years ago. The word Ayurveda is actually a combination of two words “Ayur” and “Veda”. The word “Ayur” means life and “Veda” refers to knowledge. So the term Ayurveda means “knowledge of Life. It has been practiced in India throughout the history. It is believed to be the oldest healing science in existence, forming the foundation of all others. Its origin has been traced to the Brahmins during the Vedic period in ancient India. The intention of Ayurveda is the maintenance of positive health and the treatment of diseases. In the present times, Ayurveda has gained popularity for its holistic treatments and health-focused principles.
