The  Directorate of Industrial Training is the headquarters of the Industrial Training Department in Kerala.  The Industrial Training Department functions under the Ministry of Labour & Skills. The are 104 Industrial training Institutes under the department and 350 Private ITI’s under the Department. The department also has  around 3555 staff involved in  training under the CTS, ATS and other schemes

The Director of Employment & Training is also designated as the State Apprenticeship Adviser. There 9 Related Instruction centres (RI Centers) in 9 Districts of the state and 5 offices of Assistant Apprenticeship Advisors.
